HOLY COMMUNION is offered each Sunday. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is present in his holy meal. If you believe that Jesus’ body is given for you and that his blood is shed for you, you are welcome to join us at the altar. You may also come forward to be blessed. Hands cupped open indicate an openness to receive communion; hands closed reflect a desire to receive a blessing. White grape juice is available as an alternative to wine.

CHANGE IN OFFICE HOURS: As a result of the 2010 Budget approved at the annual meeting, Jen Shelley, our secretary, will be in the office Tuesday through Friday, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

OPERATION SOUP LINE-Annual Fundraiser for Doorstep: Wednesday, February 24^th at the Expo Center’s Ag Hall from 11am-1:30pm. Enjoy chili, vegetable beef, or Portugiuse green soup, crackers, and dessert. Food is served by local celebrities. Local music groups provide live entertainment. There’s also a silent auction for baskets. Tickets are $8 and are available at the door.

SUNDAY – MARCH 7^TH: Special Guest Rev. Leonard Dale of the Central States Synod. Pastor Dale will preach during the worship service that day and lead a discussion about our work in the Partnership for Missional Church process over lunch after the service. We will also conclude our conversation about the Eight Missional Patterns/the colors of our plaid. The youth will provide a chili feed as a fundraiser.

GRANDVIEW CHOIR in Concert here at Trinity on Saturday, March 20^th. at 7:00pm.The choir will also participate in our worship on Sunday, March 21^st before returning to Des Moines.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE awaits you. Would you enjoy hosting two college students for Saturday night March 20^th. The Des Moines, IA Grandview University Choir will present a 7 pm Concert at Trinity Lutheran March 20^th. You will meet them after the Concert. Call Walt or Helen Laughlin (266-9357) if you will keep two students, provide breakfast and get them to Trinity by 9:30 am on Sunday so they can lead us in worship.

GOD’S GLOBAL BARNYARD: The Sunday School children and the HiTimes Youth are planning to provide for people living in poverty in third world countries. God's Global Barnyard is an ELCA project to provide animals that will bring both food and income for our global neighbors. Ten dollars buys 10 chicks, $20 a duck, $30. a pig, $125 sheep. If you would like to help the kids with this project, pick up a bottle that they have decorated and save your loose change (and bills too) from now until Easter. We'll see how many animals we can purchase!

THRIVENT:  The Northern Shawnee County Chapter of Thrivent Financial will meet at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, March 2, at the Java Bar, Thunderbird Square, 29th and Croco Road.  The Chapter consists of the Topeka congregations at Beautiful Savior, Calvary, Faith, First, St John's, and Trinity Lutheran Churches.  In 2009, our Thrivent chapter and congregations, through numerous social, educational and fundraising activities, raised over $75,000 for charitable causes and worked 8500 volunteer hours.  In addition, Thrivent volunteers contributed numerous hours building two Habitat for Humanity houses in southeast Topeka.  Call Ron Sims, 862-4712, for additional info.

PASTOR MERLE BROCKHOFF (Interim Pastor here in 2004 and 2005) is being installed today as Senior Pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, 1104 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, Missouri.   The Service of Installation is at 2:00 this afternoon. Please keep Pastor Merle in your prayers as he returns to regular pastoral ministry.
